WIN Enterprises: Networking / Internet Appliance Applications

A pioneer in standards-based solutions that monitor distributed applications from end-to-end across enterprise networks. As a startup, they were trying to design and develop our own boards and then handle systems integration. They were having difficulty trying to build their business and develop the product at the same time - product manufacturing was not their core business. WIN recommended that they outsource their product manufacturing to them. Today, WIN provides them with four different systems that include specially designed cases and boards. tech news

WIN Enterprises: Medical / Biomedical Technology

A technology leader in the development of fast whole-blood analyzers to, support the care of critically ill patients. They develop and manufacture medical devices and diagnostic products for many of the world's leading healthcare corporations. They had to integrate single board computers (SBC's), LCD panels and assemble the machines themselves, but found that the quantities needed were too small to justify the cost of in-house manufacturing. They hired WIN to handle machine control subassembly, the SBC and LCD integration of the embedded PCs for two of their systems. One system is small-format (biscuit PC) motherboard complete with memory, CPU and hard floppy disk drives. The second system is a small-format (slot PC) motherboard with a passive backplane, CPU, floppy and hard disk drives. tech news

Industrial Automation - Programmable Logic Controllers

When a leading manufacturer and a worldwide marketer of high-tech programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and motion control systems used in process automation and industrial control decided to migrate their unique board designs to industry-standard boards, they found that their supplier could not deliver products of consistent quality. They hired WIN initially to design and build new boards for us. Today, they provide us with complete systems, handle final assembly and testing of the units, as well as maintenance and technical support. tech news

Case Study: Imaging Automation/WIN Enterprises

In the post-9/11 world, the ability to, quickly and accurately validate the authenticity of personal identification documents such as driver's licenses and passports has become a mission-critical task for airport authorities and government security agencies. At the same time, preventing identity theft continues to be a pressing issue for the financial services, hospitality and gaming industries. WIN Enterprises worked with Imaging Automation to design and manufacture a unique, small form factor Intel Architecture processor board for Imaging Automation's iA-thenticate platform. The use of low-voltage Intel Pentium III processors and embedded chipsets enabled WIN to create the working prototype for a high-performance, small form factor, highly thermally efficient design in only 10 weeks. tech news

Responding to Volatility in the Semiconductor Supply Chain

A recent IDC survey of executives at semiconductor manufacturing organizations revealed that manufacturers are grappling with several similar business challenges. Reducing the costs of manufacturing and improving the effectiveness of sales and marketing are the top business objectives for semiconductor manufacturers, according to the survey. However, managing inventory and predicting demand also play important roles that should not be overlooked. tech news
