Web ProtocolsSystems Management APIs for z/VM This paper describes the z/VM Systems Management Application Programming Interface (API), a programming interface to manage many aspects of a z/VM system. The interface is based on the Open Network Computing Remote Procedure Call (ONC/RPC) protocol, a platform-independent and language-neutral protocol for remote procedure execution. The Systems Management API is TCP/IP-based and provides a rich set of functions to handle many aspects of z/VM management.

IPv6 - Next Generation Internet Protocol Computers and other devices on the Internet transmit packets of data over the network. The Internet consists of specialized computers called routers and communication links between the routers. The routers pass each packet from one router to another until it reaches the destination. IPv6 expands IP addresses from 32 bits to 128 bits. IPv6 also incorporates features to ensure Quality of Service.

Long-Term Data Resilience Using Opinion Polls Opinion Polls can be used as a means to reach weak agreement, an idea introduced by the LOCKSS system. This paper investigates a set of protocols that achieve data resilience for the long-term using a peer-to-peer network, where mutually untrusted peers are loosely organized. Peers use Opinion Polls to heal corrupted copies of data items instead of conventional methods that use consensus algorithms or cryptography to sign data. The paper gives a brief overview of how LOCKSS performs Opinions, improve the current algorithms, and evaluates our protocols in terms of their performance and security against adversary attacks.

A Brief Introduction to Liberty This document gives an introduction to the Liberty Version 1 specifications. It briefly discusses some of the underlying technologies, including HTTP, the establishment of web connections, and SSL. Liberty version 1 technologies are presented in overview, along with a brief discussion of Liberty security characteristics, including a review of the risks in single sign-on systems.

JXTA Search: Distributed Search for Distributed Networks JXTA Search was designed as an abstract query routing service for networks with arbitrary messaging and transport mechanisms. It currently binds to two kinds of network: the JXTA framework (XML over JXTA using either HTTP or TCP) and the Web (XML over HTTP). This paper describes both bindings and the differences between them.
