BridgesPCI-to-PCI Bridges and CardBus Controllers on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 This paper describes issues hardware manufacturers should consider when designing hardware that includes PCI-to-PCI bridges or CardBus controllers, including resource allocation, problems associated with installing CardBus controllers behind PCI-to-PCI bridges, installing more than one device behind a CardBus controller, waking the system from a device behind a PCI-to-PCI bridge, the lack of subsystem IDs on PCI-to-PCI bridges and configuring PCI-to-PCI bridges with VGA cards.

Supporting Subtractive PCI-to-PCI Bridges in Windows A bridge that is fully compliant with the PCI-to-PCI bridge specification can support both subtractive and positive decode types. However, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 do not fully support these bridge types. Current plans are to include support for these subtractive bridges in Windows Longhorn. This paper provides information about how the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems handle subtractive PCI-to-PCI bridges. It provides guidelines for device manufacturers and driver developers to understand how Windows supports PCI-to-PCI bridges.

Intel 41210 Serial to Parallel PCI Bridge Initialization by the SM Bus Using the PIC16F876A Microcontroller In the 41210 Bridge, some of the current errata (19, 20, and 25) that exist require you to load space values into registers before you can perform workarounds for those errata. This paper describes the methodology of loading these space registers for each of these errata using the PIC16F876A microcontroller attached to the 41210 Bridge and its I2C bus.

Veto Uni-directional Network Bridge and Data Pump Applications White Paper The Veto UNB and DPAs allow a number of protocols and data types to be transferred from one network to another using the one-way Interactive Link/Veto Data Diode (IL/Veto DD). These protocols and data types include FTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, clipboard and file. This adds a great deal of flexibility to Veto solutions. This white paper details the various transport protocols available to transfer data through the IL/Veto DD using the Veto Data Pump Applications and practical applications for this architecture.
