The challenge for SPOERLE was to deliver fast, reliable response to customer enquiries, extract better management information from existing business systems. To cope with growing customer demand, and increasing internal requirements for timely management information, SPOERLE replaced its two IBM AS/400 systems with a 4-way IBM eServer iSeries and a 2-way IBM eServer iSeries, sub-divided into a total of 9 logical partitions (LPARs). The new iSeries server runs all of SPOERLE's mission-critical applications, with IBM DB2 Universal Database at the heart of its operations. tech news

Tyler Cooper & Alcorn, LLP is one of Connecticut's largest law firms. Tyler Cooper & Alcorn managers wanted to continue to expand, while allowing its partners to do what they do best - practice law. They switched from a Microsoft platform to a tightly integrated legal software suite (LMS V) from Rippe & Kingston that runs on all IBM middleware (IBM WebSphere, Lotus Domino, and IBM DB2 Universal Database) using the IBM eServer iSeries. This allows them to team in ways that were not possible before, not to mention cost and resource reductions and virus and failsafe protection. tech news

Based in Abingdon, Virginia, the Washington County government encompasses 566 square miles in the southwest corner of the state. The county needed to become more responsive to its constituents by providing better access to its services, while paving the way for broad process transformation in the future. Working with Burk Consulting-charged with creating an on demand operating environment-the county implemented an e-government portal solution based on IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) and IBM WebSphere Portal Enable for Multiplatforms running on a Linux-based server.
