Macromedia Case Study: American Airlines

American Airlines Passenger division is the largest scheduled passenger airline in the world. The challenge for American Airlines was to develop training courses for employees in divisions such as Flight Attendant, Pilot, Maintenance and Engineering, Reservations, and Airport Customer Service. In the early 1990s, the group saw an opportunity to incorporate the advancing technology of computer based training (CBT) into its training and development programs. At that time, a highly skilled group of designers and developers worked with Macromedia Authorware to convert more than 400 hours of Security, Cargo, and Customer Service training to CBT. Today, the Corporate Flagship University delivers hundreds of hours of training each month using Macromedia Authorware, Macromedia Flash, and Fireworks. tech news

Macromedia Case Study: Alameda County Department of Children and Family Services

The Department of Children and Family Services (CFS) provides protective services to children and families. The 300 child welfare workers in the Alameda County Department of Children and Family Services depend on the official Practice Guide when doing their jobs. Previously, when a child-welfare regulation or practice changed, the department disseminated updates on paper-a process that was both inefficient and costly. But when the department put the guide online using Microsoft FrontPage, it faced an additional training burden for its non-technical content specialists. Macromedia Contribute promised to let the department avoid the hassles of training non-technical users while allowing technical staff to maintain all-important control over the site. tech news
