Based on the CIAO! framework, this paper describes the initial evaluation of the Kinematic Model for Design Digital Library (KMODDL), which is being used in an undergraduate mathematics class. This evaluation effort uncovered usability problems of different digital models and students' positive experience, and revealed how learning occurred in the students' uses of these models. K-MODDL provides a web-based system that will include navigable moving images of the original artifacts, as well as simulations of the mathematical principles related to the machines' movements. tech news

This paper focuses on the use of knowledge management techniques to develop reusable web-based intellectual assets to leverage the learning process for individual learners. The literature review reveals that corporate solutions of knowledge management are not directly applicable due to the lack of adaptivity needed to provide individualized feedback to the learner, and their localized nature that does not directly deal with authentication and verification of distributed information.
